Claude’s plan revamp turns MCP into a buying check

New Education tier and Microsoft 365 support change who can justify it.

Claude’s plan revamp turns MCP into a buying check

Claude’s pricing page changed more than the price. The new Education plan is one part; the bigger shift is the rewritten feature matrix, now calling out remote MCP connectors and Claude for Microsoft 365. Structurely is making a similar move at the category edge, rewriting itself from a mortgage calling/texting tool into an AI-native telephony and voice orchestration platform. Add Darktrace’s new Behavioral Defense Platform and SECURE AI, and today reads like vendors are forcing a clearer split between who the product is for and what control you get. If you buy assistants or customer-facing AI, check the new plan fit and governance model before renewal.

From Agentic-News.ai

Agentic-AI industry signal we're tracking — launches, releases, and research from across the ecosystem. The directory rubric hasn't scored these yet; awareness now, evaluation next pass.

Lumafield product launch
Lumafield has introduced Quality Agent, an agentic AI system for defect detection and root-cause analysis in manufacturing. The model is built on large-scale industrial X-ray CT data and watches production signals to spot deviations from known-good parts. For those tracking agentic AI, this pushes the category deeper into physical-world operations where mistakes are costly. The most interesting piece is how the system turns inspection into evidence, not just alerts.

JFrog product launch
JFrog has launched new software supply chain security and governance products, including DevGovOps functions in AppTrust, agent security controls, Zero-Touch Remediation, and a Wiz integration. The announcements land as AI coding tools and autonomous agents are taking on more software work. That raises the stakes for security teams that need control without creating bottlenecks. For those tracking agentic AI products, this signals growing demand for guardrails around systems that can write and ship code on their own.

Air product launch
Air emerged from stealth with $50 million in funding from Sequoia Capital and Greenoaks. The New York startup says it is building a firewall for agents and reverse-engineering model behavior so companies can see why systems act. For those tracking agentic AI products, this points to a fast-growing market for controls around autonomous systems, not just the systems themselves. The key question is whether Air can turn model interpretability into a product enterprises will buy.

Agenticness Leaderboard

This week's most-clicked tools, re-ranked by rubric score. The score is the editorial signal; the popularity is what drew the directory's traffic here this week.

Claude Code is Anthropic's agentic coding tool that lives in your terminal. It understands your entire codebase, makes multi-file edits, runs commands, manages git workflows, and uses MCP for tool integration. Built with a Unix philosophy — it reads, plans, edits, and verifies in a loop. The fastest-growing product in the coding agent category.

  • Cursor · 18/36 · Adaptive Collaborator · L2

Cursor is a developer-focused AI environment that adds agents, context, and automation around your repositories. It combines an editor-like interface, a CLI, and a cloud agent API to automate code review, bug fixing, CI hygiene, and more. Designed for individual developers and engineering teams who want AI to take real actions in their code and infrastructure, not just chat.

  • Cline · 18/36 · Adaptive Collaborator · L2

Cline is an AI coding assistant for VS Code that can inspect your project, edit files, run terminal commands, and use a browser while asking for permission at each step. It is aimed at developers working on real codebases who want more than code completion.

  • OpenHands · 18/36 · Adaptive Collaborator · L2

OpenHands (formerly OpenDevin) is a fully autonomous open-source AI coding agent. MIT-licensed core, plans + executes Python actions via CodeAct, uses browser + terminal + files. ~72% on SWE-bench Verified with Sonnet 4.5 via the OpenHands Software Agent SDK (arXiv:2511.03690).

  • Aider · 7/36 · Guided Assistant · L1

Aider helps you edit code from the terminal with an AI model connected to your codebase. It runs locally in your repo and can work with models from providers like xAI using an API key.

What operators are searching for this week

A week's demand signal — what operators are typing into the directory's search. Suggestion-chip defaults + off-topic / greetings filtered.

  • "best coding agent"
  • "I'm looking for an AI coding assistant that can work across a whole repo."
  • "Help me find an AI agent"
  • "AI agent to triage and reply to my email inbox"
  • "best coding agent for a large existing codebase"

Learn: Context Window

A context window is how much text the model can keep in view at once. Think of a helper reading a long instruction sheet on your desk. If the sheet is short, the helper sees everything. If it’s longer than the desk, the earliest pages fall off. In practice, that means an agent can hold a whole chat, a long spec, or a chunk of code in working memory only up to that limit. A bigger context window helps on tasks that need more of the task history or more files at once. But it isn’t permanent memory. Once the turn ends, the model doesn’t keep that state unless your app saves and sends it back.

One tool worth testing

Claude — Test Claude for team knowledge work and admin-heavy assistant workflows. The site now shows a major plan and pricing revamp, including a new Education plan and a rewritten feature matrix that adds remote MCP connectors and Claude for Microsoft 365. That makes this a good time to verify whether the new tiers match your actual usage, and whether the Microsoft 365 and MCP features replace a separate assistant or connector layer. Run a 30-minute pilot on one internal workflow and compare it with your current setup.

Our pick: n8n

The use case: workflow automation.

Tops our independent /36 — strongest on action and reliability, ahead of Zapier. Pricing: Per-execution (not per-step).

Ranked by our 9-dimension Agenticness rubric — not by who pays us (nobody does). The full scorecard, true-cost pricing, and the reliability evidence behind every score are in the report.
