AutoGen is archived, Microsoft points users to Agent Framework
The pattern: 2 of the 6 website changes in this issue involve MCP (Reply.io and AgentSwarms).
What changed: AutoGen has been archived by Microsoft. It is no longer maintained, and its README directs new users to Microsoft Agent Framework with a migration guide for existing users.
Why it matters: Teams running AutoGen lose the expectation of bug fixes, security fixes, new features, and support. This is a platform lifecycle change, not a feature update: any production dependency now carries a maintenance risk while Microsoft’s successor framework becomes the supported path.
Do this: Open AutoGen’s migration guide today and map the agents, dependencies, and deployment assumptions that would need to move to Microsoft Agent Framework.
